The “new year, new me” messaging that floods social media feeds in the days surrounding January 1st gets a bad rap. Sure, it’s often hijacked by people with no genuine intention of self-improvement, but there’s still some value in approaching a new set of 365 days with plans to become a “new” (read: “better”) version of oneself. Fitness, financial and romantic goals commonly rank among a person’s top goals for a year, but “eco-consciousness” and “sustainability” have noticeably crept into resolutions over the last decade.
