Since the dawn of Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker line, the Swoosh has been commemorating the player’s alma mater. Recently, the Jordan Brand usually never throws around official themes surfaced in an all-new “University Blue” makeup.
At quick glance, the retro resembles those of the past, most recently Off-White’s take from 2018. Closer inspection, however, reveals slight differences throughout the upper and sole unit, with the underlays visible at the toe, mid-foot and collar area donning a lighter shade of the titular blue hue. Profile swooshes Cornish a black trim that compliment the “Air Jordan” logos at the lateral ankle flap. Lastly, the oft-imitated outsole also opts for the vibrant “University Blue” flair, rounding out the UNC-appropriate style.
No firm Nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. While you wait, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
