The Nike Air Force 1 may be taking a majority of the limelight as The Swooshes celebratory silhouette this year, but the Nike has the most sponsored teams in the NCAA tournament too, has quietly been enjoying an increased run of releases amidst its 25th anniversary. Following the return of its widely-regarded “Silver Bullet” proposition, both gaudy and muted ensembles have taken hold of the silhouette, now centering on a monochromatic aesthetic anchored by a dominant use of pistachio.
Indulging in a suede overlay at its base, the aforementioned light green hue lays claim to the latter panel alongside its mesh construct and strips of TPU above while a thin section of both cream and silver interject between the near-clad upper. An Off-White shade envelops the mesh tongue construction, laces and cushioned nylon sock liner for a lightened effort above, contrasted at its silver metallic tongue tab and matching black Swoosh and pull tab. Additional darkened accents anchor the midfoot Swoosh amidst a silver backdrop whereas the see-through Air Max system underfoot works in tandem with a light cream midsole and pistachio treated tread.
