Virgil Abloh was a man of the culture, climbing his way up from Pyrex Vision all the way to the hallowed ground of Louis Vuitton. And despite battling cancer for some time prior to his passing, the late designer rarely let it show in his work, leaving the world better and certainly more well-dressed than when he entered it.
While it’s been a little over a year since Abloh’s death, the void left by his absence is still very much palpable. His influence can still be felt across the operations of the above-mentioned atelier, who may be ushering in more colorways of one of the Off-White founder’s last collaborative efforts: the Louis Vuitton x Nike Nike Zoom Kobe VII Christmas from.
Thanks to Imed Soussi — who’s been a part of the luxury house’s PR team since 2008 — a new, unreleased sample of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Dunk Low SE White Light & 90 et Nike Blazer Low Plateform NN was recently revealed in the flesh. This colorway, which features dark and light green suedes through its this, is covered almost entirely in a subtle monogram print, with gold Kukini applied to the branded Helvetica along the profile.
At the time of Store this, it’s unconfirmed whether or not this peasant will actually be releasing. But with Shannon Abloh making a concerted effort to bring much of her late husband’s work to light — such as the Futura x Off-White x Nike Dunk Low, which is currently up for bidding via Sotheby’s — there’s a possibility that a public release is in the cards.
