The world’s best baseball players are getting ready to convene in Seattle very soon for All-Star Weekend, but there’s an even more star-studded assortment of legends not far from T-Mobile Park.
Introducing Hometeam, a retail/community space located in Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle. Brought to you by Seattle natves Ben Kirschner, Marcus Lalario, and Dustin Winegardener, Hometeam is a true labor of love, with each of its founders bringing his own respective passion into the space. Officially opening on July 7th, Hometown offers a unique retail experience featuring their own in-house brand called Hometown Seattle. Inside the space is Italian restaurant Darkalinos, which boasts handmade pasta and focaccia, an in-house bar, and their own roasted coffee. Most importantly, beginning in 2024, Hometown will begin carrying footwear.
For its grand opening, which comes right at the start of the MLB All-Star festivities, Hometown has set up an incredible display of Player Exclusive baseball cleats from the sport’s most legendary figures. Some are even game-worn and autographed, rarifying them even more. Deion Sanders, Derek Jeter, and C.C. Sabathia, are just some of the players highlighted in this incredible wall of shoes, but not to worry — there’s plenty of hometown love as well. Player Exclusives from Ken Griffey Jr., Ichiro Suzuki, Jay Buhner, Alex Rodriguez, and Felix Hernandez — all icons of the Seattle Mariners franchise — are rightfully represented. This outstanding exhibit was made possible by the collections of @benkirschner, @retrokid45, @freddy_war, and @NYheat.
Hometeam Seattle is located at 300 Occidental Ave S.; this display will be available for public view beginning on July 7th, 2023. If you’re not in the Seattle area, check out some of the selections below.
