With the increasing popularity of ASICS tech runners with that 2000s-era aesthetic, the Japanese sportswear brand often looks to the past to inform the future. We’ve seen it in the recently revealed ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1, which unearths that actual mid-2000s running shoe with the cushion platform oft the GEL-Kayano 14, itself a mainstay powerhouse season after season. Beginning this third quarter of 2024, the brand is ready to unleash its latest model – the ASICS Gel-Zaraca 4.
The name itself suggests that the shoe is from the future. Catapulting off the success of the GEL-NYC, itself a modern spin on past designs, the 2055 model adds a new dimension by exaggerating the brand logo as it spills beyond the mudguard and directly into the sole (unchanged from the GEL-NYC). The remainder of the upper modifies the overlays, with both suede and leather panels sitting above a porous sport mesh. Official images of the one of the upcoming colorways can be viewed below.
For now, you can expect three colorways of the ASICS Gel-Zaraca 4 to hit retailers on July 19th with an MSRP of $130.
