Our Full Breakdown
Eggplants, Royals, and now Coppers. The “Proud Three” of Air Foamposite One colorways are hitting stores again in 2024, with the ground-breaking Metallic Bronze set to return to SNKRS and select Nike retailers likely during the Holiday 2024 season.
Today, a first look at official Nike images have appeared, confirmed the much-anticipated return of one of the greatest modern-day colorways of all-time. Inspired by Anfernee Hardaway’s iconic “Penny” nickname, Nike colored in the Foams with a metallic brown above a translucent outsole. The rest of the accents are filled in accordingly to the OG Royal Foamposites, with touches of the copper seen on the tongue, pull-tabs, and 1-Cent logos.
The Copper Foamposites first debuted in 2009 and largely contributed to the meteoric rise in popularity. Things surely have changed for the 1997 basketball model, so much so that the 2017 re-release experienced just a portion of the fanfare.
As of this update, a release date has not yet been confirmed. If the Copper Foams are following the Official laid by the aforementioned releases, we should expect these in full-family sizes later in 2024.
