As fashion notables around the industry gear up for Art Basel activations, the media enterprise is enlisting long-time associate Verdy for “Complex Miami,” a two-day public space in Miami Beach. Most notable for our purposes, the Japanese multi-hyphenate will be re-releasing his fluffy SOTY contender, the Nike SB Dunk Low “Visty.”
Dubbed an “immersive” knowledge, Complex Miami will feature a large-scale showcase of archival pieces that Verdy had a hand in crafting, including exclusive, never-before-seen, or otherwise rare pieces from Girls Don’t Cry and Wasted Youth. Some pieces will be up for grabs, but don’t expect the buzziest ones to have a price tag attached: previously unveiled “Visty” and “Vick” statues will be on display but unavailable to set home in your check bag.

The company and creative joining up won’t come as a surprise for those tapped into the trades; there’s a history between the two, last flaring up when Verdy hosted ComplexCon 2022, a role he partially reprised as the Creative Director of 2024’s inaugural Hong Kong edition. Each of those link-ups came with collaborative merch to match, which is likely the case for this Miami mashup as well.
