Urlfreeze News Another original colorway of the Nike Kobe 6 is set for its second run in Protro form. Dubbed the “POP” aka “Playoff Pack”, this simple and straightforward colorway representing the home threads of the Lakers originally dropped in the early summer of 2011 during Kobe Bryant’s quest for a second career three-peat. The Lakers were unfortunately stopped short by the Dallas Mavericks, although losing to the eventual NBA champions was a bit of a consolation.
The “POP” theme didn’t really last much longer than the VI, and even back then it was only given the moniker for its place in the release schedule as it coincided with the Playoffs. In fact, these simpler, understated colorways didn’t really bred up to the wild colors and concepts that the VI was known for, such as the “LA” Pack and even the oddball camouflage series.
