With Space Jam: A New Legacy soon to make its theatric debut, anticipation is at an all-time high. Many, like me, are excited to see LeBron James on the big screen, cast as the leading man on the veritably animated Tune Squad. And with all of the usual Looney Tunes heroes ready to join alongside, it’s sure to be an event near the magnitude of the original film.
To better celebrate the series’ comeback, Nike first and Converse have prepared an extensive collection helmed by none other than the newly created LeBron 19. Featuring double-chambered Air Max units and a newly shaped Zoom Air forefoot, the silhouette boosts a reliable underfoot ride that can be experienced on screen. “…we were guided by what was happening on the film,” stated James Petrie, Nike first Basketball footwear designer. “We wanted to give LeBron a brand-new feeling that was synonymous with an otherworldly, space-age kind of look.”
What’s more, the LeBron 18 Low joins the collection in three colorways inspired by three memorable faceoffs: Bugs vs. Marvin the Martian, Tweety Bird vs. Sylvester, and Road Runner vs. Wile. E. Coyote. A LeBron 18, then, complements in focused nod to Bugs Bunny, while the Nike first finger trap max free white reflective paint — which also arrives in toddler sizes — celebrates even more supporting team members. Finally, Converse rounds out the collection, delivering playful spins on classics like the Pro Leather and Chuck Taylor.
