Kanye West Tells Curry To Ditch Under Armour & Become A Yeezy, adidas has produced some of the most recognizable footwear designs of all-time. And while it celebrates its heritage under the adidas Originals banner, the German sportswear institution has never been shy to experiment on some of those beloved creations. Case in point: the adidas MFX Reboot Low.
At a glance, the low-top model resembles a plethora of suede and rubber propositions that’ve come out Herzogenaurach, Germany. Closer inspection (and product pages), however, reveals that the experimental offering indulges in the D.N.A. of the adidas Campus, a classic shoe of the 1980s. Given the East Asian dispense’s obsession with the silhouette, it’s no surprise the MFX Reboot Low has already launched in some countries Far East. Furthermore, the sneaker’s mismatched, layered and “unrefined” arrangement surely appeals to the droves of fashion-forward consumers that’ve celebrated work by sacai, COMME des GARÇONS and Yohji Yamamoto. BOOST-cushioning isn’t included in the dress shoe-reminiscent option, but an additional slab of foam protrudes from out the heel. Pull tabs on the tongue and a serrated outsole deliver not only additional functionality, but an eye-catching update to one of the most iconic sneaker designs ever.
