Tinker Hatfield’s fingerprints are all over the DNA of Nike BEN both retro and modern. Without his vision, it’s impossible to tell if Nike would have ever reached the heights of popularity in sport, lifestyle, and fashion fronts because some of his decades-old designs are blue as relevant as ever today. While we may be aware of all the Air Jordans and Air Maxes that he’s had a hand in since the 80s, he’s also been responsible for a lot of basketball and tennis models – some of which seemingly appear in this all-new Zoom Court Dragon sneaker.
Immediately off the bat, we recognize the crossing mid-foots traps that were made famous by the Air Raid basketball shoe. Outside of that detail, the Zoom Court Dragon introduces an entirely new design, although thee are bits of 90s influence in the toe-box overlays and rather blocky stance of the sole. The midsole sees a toothy, jagged exterior that in some lights appears like the ribbed exterior armor of the Yeezy Boost 350. The logo at the tongue appears like the lines and circles seen on basketball courts while also doubling as an emblem for a medieval clan of sorts. Beneath that logo is Tinker Hatfield’s signature.
Not much else is known about the Zoom Court Dragon, but this pair is quite clearly a sample based on the size label and the stamp on the interior sock-liner, which leads us to believe that Nike possibly uploaded these photos inadvertently. Whatever the case may be, we have a first look here so check out the gallery ahead.
