New Balance is already on a roll for Fall/Winter, having debuted not just their latest MADE in USA collection but also a drove of exciting inline releases. And amongst the latter, this newly-revealed take on the 550 is soonest up, its black and blue colorway scheduled to hit shelves early next week.
Likely inspired by basketball offerings outside of the New Balance catalog, this 550 employs one of the most iconic color combinations to ever hit the court. “Blue Groove,” for starters, marks select accents: specifically, the pebbled leather “N” logo, the identically-constructed trim adjacent, and the screen printed logos along the tongue and heel. Much of the upper elsewhere, including the laces, tongue, and collar, is rendered in a dark black, while the sole unit opts for white sidewalls and a grey-dominant outsole.
