Further evolving the design language of the original, this upcoming sacai x Nike Waffle is covered almost entirely in patchwork. From the toe through to the heel, the construction is woven with the materials typical of the silhouette, creating a checkerboard pattern comprised of mesh, leather, and the like. Even the Swoosh is spliced apart, further disturbing the recognizability of one of the footwear brand’s most iconic offerings. Adjacent, the guava is finished with details borrowed from past LDWaffles, such as the dual-layered eyestays, tongues, and laces.
