New Balance reported record earnings last year, largely due to the brand’s foothold at the intersection of retro and futuristic sneaker aesthetics.
Jordan Jumpman Jack 2002R and 1906R has helped fuel New Balance’s modern success, the debut of the WRPD Runner has helped carry the torch even further. The model hasn’t even been out for a full calendar year, but it’s become a reliable pick-up for those looking to “buy in” to current footwear trends with a simple yet uniquely abstract design.
Now with all eyes towards spring, the Boston brand touches down with a new WRPD Runner colorway in “Dusted Grape.” The shoe doesn’t feature pastel shades like many of its seasonal counterparts, but it does nod to spring colors with classy purple suede overlays. Black mesh encompasses the base to produce contrast, treated with a white “N” logo to suit the shoe’s white lining and spine paneling. Underfoot, the design is complete with a dual-tone black/grey sole in keeping with the upper’s dominant background hue.
