Nike Skateboarding rider Sean Malto has uncanny control over his skateboard, as he can weave his way through the streets or any competition course with the utmost of ease. That’s why Nike SB decided he’d be the perfect guy to help introduce the latest Nike Dunk rendition as the skate imprint’s 15th-anniversary celebration continues to give us notable drops throughout 2017. The Nike Free Woven Dark Grey Cool Grey Low “Sean Malto” takes inspiration from the flexibility of traditional samurai armour as this slimmed down silhouette benefits from unique stitching, premium brass accents and a brand new sock liner for additional comfort.
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 15 years since Nike SB transformed the Dunk Low for a more skate-ready feel. After yesterday’s huge announcement that a number of shops would be participating in an exclusive raffle giving away a chance at some of the most iconic Dunk colorways ever, it’s only right that Nike News hit us with the next evolution of the legendary model. Malto’s exclusive colorway will be available from Nike.com and select retailers on March 2nd while a general release launch option featuring grey and blue will follow on March 9th.
The Nike Free Woven Dark Grey Cool Grey Low “Grey/Blue” is also rooted in the history of Nike SB, as it references a sample that then GM of Nike SB Sandy Bodecker took around to skate shops back in 2002. This pair better represents the freshly re-engineered upper with an overhauled lightweight feel. A larger Zoom Air bag hits the midsole for maximum impact absorption while the shoe is comprised of a one-piece upper with a seamless construction.
You’ll have to wait until March 2nd to grab this updated Nike Free Woven Dark Grey Cool Grey Low, but check out more detailed shots below and stay tuned for more Nike SB updates on Nike.com.
