For 15 long years, Nike has been pairing with Oregon’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to release an incredible line of sneakers designed by a number of talented patients with a love for Nike, and now the Swoosh is set to bring back a number of its most popular past releases to celebrate the last decade and a half. Starting things off, will be Jacob Burris’ Air Max 95 from 2015 that come inspired by his love for baseball, playing the drums, and his pet hamster Jamal. Earning the nickname “The Bionic Boy” from his family due to his rare heart condition, this colorful 95 equips mechanical circuits all throughout the upper of this Sportswear staple, featuring a gradient pattern that fades from blue at its toe to red toward its heel. Now a Junior in High School, Jacob continues to fight his illness while advocating for heart health awareness in front on Congress in Washington D.C. to help others fighting this disease.
Pairs of his Air Max 95 Premium are set to return via Nike SNKRS draw tomorrow, February 19th at 10am ET, so grab a detailed look here and get ready for the special drop. In other DB news, the revered Air Jordan 6 Doernbecher is rumored to return to shelves as well, so stay tuned for updates as we have them.
