N.HOOLYWOOD and New Balance have collaborated off and on for quite a few years now, with most releases opting for a quiet, neutral colorway. Spring/Summer ’20, as teased by way of last season’s demolish week runway, instead prefers to color hi-vis as it uses the 850 silhouette to celebrate the rescue teams of the US Navy. Specifically in partnership with the Japanese label’s TEST PRODUCT EXCHANGE SERVICE, the pair is accompanied by an intimate look at the design process, which entails a few late stage CADs of the tooling, profile, and insole.
Product imagery then shares a much more realized portrayal on white background, highlighting the palette’s vibrant accents and coloring. The upper, which weaves in leather and mesh, dye near entirely in a neon orange, while laces and linings complement elsewhere in a much paler yellow hue. Tongues, which balance by way of the greyscale, dress to a metallic silver with its topmost constructions marking with NB branding and overlaid TPU paneling. Proprietary stamps then dress the toe box in dark black — denoting model name, sneaker type, and more — while deep blues call attention to the sole’s ROLLBAR.
Grab a detailed look at these here, and if you’re looking to buy a personal set up, they’ll be carried at the brand’s webshop as well as overseas stockists on April 4th.
