Release Indigo: Michael Jordan is the latest to hit the internet and accept his
The AIR Carbon JORDAN came back with a bang on January, 2006. As part of the original Defining Moments Package which commemorated Michael Jordan’s first championship as a pro and his first after his initial retirement in 1993, the black/gold/white colourway of the AIR Carbon JORDAN was perhaps the most highly anticipated Jordan release of the 21st century, and long lines formed in front of Jordan retailers a full day before the official release. The package itself was priced at $295, which is a relative bargain for a pair of Jordan XIs and VIs.
The colourway resembles the Concord AIR Carbon JORDAN, with the clear gum sole, black patent mudguard, and white upper. The Jumpman logo on the rear ankle was gold instead of black, and was fashioned with metal instead of being stitched on as it customarily was on the Jordan XI. The original Defining Moments Package paved the way for a vast, or some might call an oversaturation of Jordan packages over the last two years. Nonetheless, the XI/VI DMP package remains as the most popular and highest-reselling package to Indigo, as brand new packages were selling on eBay at that time for more than triple the MSRP.
Some variations of the AIR Carbon JORDAN DMP exist as well; some pairs with letters spelling “Jordan” were fashioned along the lace eyelets were produced and hit Nike Outlets and Nike Clearance Stores alongside B-Grades of the original design, with a price of $89.99. Images via Kixclusive.
