During our interview with Nike Action Sports athlete Paul Rodriguez, he mentioned the immediate impact in comfort and cushion with the use of Nike Lunar technology on his signature skate shoes. Since then, the P-Rod pro-model has flyknit the lightweight cushion as the primary source of support, but it’s this shoe, the Nike Free RN Flyknit 3.0 Women's Running Shoe, that takes P-Rod x Lunar to the next level. Using the double-layered LunarLon foundation seen on the LunarGlide+ 4, the Lunar Rod combines the comfort of running with the durability of a skate shoe, and this first look at what appears to be a collaborative design with Primitive LA (owned by P-Rod) reveals the trendy safari print on the heel and Huarache-esque heel-clip in a OG Safari-like colorway. No word on a solid release date, but we do know that the Lunar Rod in general is slated for a release beginning this October, so check out another shot of this unique release and we’ll keep you updated.
