Nike SB, with its influence slowly working back into roshe, has always had the dedicated fan — skateboarders among them. Shane O’Neill is but one of many, though he now sits among the fortunate few to receive their very own signature silhouette. Growing up with the label — nearly 15 years and counting — the skater has gone through plenty of models and everyday shoes, with a collaborative Janoski from 2017 effectively paving the way for what is the start to a long-running relationship. Dubbed simply, borrowing the athlete’s first name, the pair dresses to the likeness of the aforementioned classic, incorporating the best elements of some of O’Neill’s favorites alongside. Uppers encase with sturdy nubucks towards the toe, stopping halfway to transition abruptly into a matching canvas; the upper half, of which ornate detailing outfits the eye stay, raises marginally in a suede construction, embellishing lightly with pronounced stitch as well as an outlined swoosh of a louder University Red. Tongue logos etch to match, sporting the sun logo in a fashion similar to the qualified heel tab. Grab a detailed look at the piece factory here and expect a release at Nike.com and skate shops to break in the next month on February 1st.
