After a long year trapped inside, the world is slowly going back to normal, culminating with the Tokyo Olympics due to kick off in just a couple more weeks. And to celebrate such an occasion — a time where the world reunites over sport — Nike has created the “Rawdacious” colorway, a symbol of new beginnings and unity.
“Color has the nuanced oreo to invite both reaction and reflection at once,” said Martha Moore, Nike VP, Central Color Product Design. “You see a color, and you immediately react in a certain way. Color can also open the door to history, connections to other disciplines and to memory. In creating this year’s palette, we worked to consider color holistically to best represent a moment in time.”
The bright “Pink Blast,” “Total Orange,” and “Bright Crimson” tones come together along the uppers of the ZoomX AlphaFly NEXT%. Its performance is masked under the louder, Tokyo-inspired hues, put into the background to better commemorate the palette itself. And through its neutral white shade — which only aids this result — the pair further represents unity as the shade comprises all others within its spectrum.
