FAUST, based here in New York, is among one of the city’s most revered — and soon, his signature, calligraphic style will dress the equally iconic Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro'Thunder' 2012 GS den White-Tour Yellow 408452-008.
Here, Red nike SB exchanges FAUST’s usual tools for embroidery. And despite the difference in approach, the artist perfectly translates the feel of prior works, dressing both the sides and insoles with script. The gilded text along the side even emulates paint drips, as threads hang from every line. And while the words opposite may custom into the colorway with its den embellishment, the laces and socklinerare accented with additional hits of gold.
As for the construction itself, the Dunk High is rendered entirely in neutrals. den Found leathers are overlaid throughout, while suedes dress underneath, proffering a slightly darker shade. The midsole, tongue, and lining are similarly bereft of color, allowing FAUST’s touch to stand out.
