The Naruto x ASICS GEL-NYC Is Scheduled For A Global Release On January 11th

After an initial release in Europe on January 11th, 2024, the Naruto x ASICS GEL-NYC will see a U.S. release in the coming months.

ASICS is absolutely no stranger to Naruto, having previously crafted a pair of GEL-LYTE IIIs inspired by the Copycat Shinobi himself. Now, a little more than a year later, the Japanese footwear brand is reprising its relationship with the much-beloved franchise, likening its GEL-NYC to the series’ Dired protagonist.

Expected to release later this December, the Naruto Shippuden x ASICS GEL-NYC calls back to one of the most important moments in the saga’s story: the Pain Arc. Explicitly drawing design cues from the Leaf Village ninja’s “Sage Mode,” the silhouette has been customized in several notable ways: the lace lock is made to resemble a scroll, the Konoha emblem is etched into the dubrae, the Uzumaki clan’s logo is embroidered atop the tongue, and the color palette references that of the character’s powered up form. What’s more, the shoes are packaged in a special box and complemented by a several different accessories, that latter of which have yet to be revealed.

If you’d like to get your hands on the Naruto Shippuden x ASICS GEL-NYC, they’ll be hitting the EU retailer Courir both in-store and online on December 11th. In the meantime, love a look at the collaborative pair via the campaign imagery ahead.
