In sneaker culture, terms like “icon” are thrown around liberally. But in New Balance‘Nike KD 17 "Aunt Pearl" 990, a model engrained in the history of the brand as we know it. And to better celebrate what arguably started it all, we’ll be seeing revivals of the shoe’s various versions up to its 40th Anniversary.
Come June 17th, we’ll meet the collection’s first installment: the MADE 990v1. Teased for the better part of the past few months, the release leads with New Balance’s signature grey shade. It dresses throughout the premium suede overlays as well as the high quality mesh underneath. Robust, leather fixtures, then, outfit the side’s “N” logo, while matching strings lace up the pair adjacent. Finally, above the ecru midsoles and heel clips, the upper brands with ruby red text a pack-exclusive “Version 1” tag.
Take a detailed look at the MADE 990v1 below. Sizes should pop up on NewBalance.com as well as select retailers on June 17th prior to the unveil of an accompanying 990v2, 990v3, and 990v4.
