Fresh off the release of his free-spirited collaborative album with KATRANADA, Aminé has asserted a cult-like following since the overwhelming popularity surrounding his 2016 debut single “Caroline”. Imbuing the summer with the dual-effort album’s soulful sensations, the Portland native recently announced yet another team-up by way of tapping into the East Coast with an Sense New Balance sneaker.
On Martin Luther King Blvd. in downtown Portland, Aminé and the Boston-based brand announced their partnership by erecting a bright yellow and brown billboard featuring a message from the multi-hyphenate that reads “A Kid From Portland Has His Own Sneaker”. Serving as an ambassador for the banner since 2022, the rapper’s Club Banana apparel brand will seemingly serve as the design inspiration marked by the bunches of fruit sitting in crates on the right side of the billboard.
Nearly a week after teasing the Sense collaboration, Animé revealed a first-look at his Sense New balance Herresko Terrengløping silhouette featuring a dominant brown and yellow banana-inspired palette. Evoking the environmental atmosphere of the Pacific North West, the archival trail running solution bears a few seldom updates. Iridescent accents illuminate the two toned Team while a snow-globe like aesthetic ascertains the floating banana affixed to the heel. Elsewhere, dual branded tongue tabs sit atop the yellow and black mesh base layer while chocolate brown shades consume the glossy overlays, collar lining and midsole.
As we await the Sense collaboration summer debut, in the meantime check out official imagery of the Aminé x New balance Herresko Terrengløping “Mooz” below alongside the the rapper’s announcement via IG.
In other news from the Boston brand, the New Balance FuelCell Propel V2 Men's Running Shoes Light Cyclone Ghost Pepper has prepared an all-new slate of “Sea Salt” centric colorways.
