This year’s “Grey Day” lineup is New Balance’s most well-rounded to date. Not only does it show love to plenty of lifestyle cuts like the Jordan Jumpman Jack and WRPD Runner; it includes greyed-out versions of new basketball models. We saw “Grey Day” spread its influence on the New Balance Fresh Foam BB v2, and now it infiltrates the brand’s signature selection by way of an upcoming New Balance KAWHI IV.
Much like the aforementioned “Grey Day” Fresh Foam BB v2, the KAWHI IV undergoes a drastic material overhaul here. The mudguard and eyestay strip drop synthetics in favor of what appears to be cracked leather, and the base features thick mesh bordering that of essential “Made In USA/UK” colorways. Maroon accents spice up the palette on the tongue, forefoot, quarter, and heel, while a pre-aged midsole echoes the storied history of grey New Balance footwear to complete the look underfoot.
You won’t see these on-court during the NBA Playoffs given the Clippers’ first round exit this year, but you’ll have a chance to pick up a pair of your own on May 25th for $165. Reference our “Where To Buy” section ahead for direct purchase links upon the shoe’s release.
