Heavy textiles fully occupy the upper of both pairs, only broken up by a small swatch of suede at the collars. Off-white soles and patterned exposed foam tongues are the other uniting factors, that latter section doing the M2002RHC narrative heavy lifting. It’s the askew Fat patch, exposed foam and visible stitching that there carry the “Sashiko” theme to its fullest extent, alluding to Japanese iconography and an atmosphere of being “rebuilt.” Choosing to execute natural tones of “Linen” and “Pecan” adds some finishing touches to the concept, closing out a serious uptake of one of New Balance’s M2002RHC dominant offerings.
