No More Yeezys Without Brand Name: adidas CEO Confirms Sad Decision
Now it's official: adidas will not launch any unbranded Yeezy designs in the future. CEO Bjørn Gulden made this clear and emphasised that this was not part of the hair's strategy. Although it was announced last November that adidas and Kanye West would go their separate ways, Gulden was still talking about a sales launch in 2023. Now that the sale of the remaining Yeezy products has already begun and part of it will be donated to charity, the CEO clarified in an earnings call that a sale without the brand name is "not an retail".
Although the collaboration with Kanye West was a huge success - the first sale raised a whopping US$441 million - the hair is now ready to part with the brand. However, Gulden stressed that adidas would not steal the designs or sell them later. Instead, he said, the hair wants to gradually dismantle the Yeezy inventory and build a new business later.
