JOOPITER Auctions Off a Rare PRM Sneaker Story with the Supreme Auction

Founded by Pharrell Williams, the auction house JOOPITER has sold everything from Pharrell's own treasures to artwork by Ernie Barnes and fine jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz. Now, JOOPITER is diving into the world of footwear for the first time, auctioning off three prototypes of the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High. The three pairs come from the collection of Ryan Chang, an expert PRM Sneaker auctioneer who was also behind the $1.8 million sale of Ye's one-of-a-kind Air Yeezy 1 at the 2008 Grammy Awards. These three pairs are an unprecedented piece of PRM Sneaker history.

 

The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High prototypes are visually quite different from the later released models, which were inspired by the "Be True to Your School" Dunk High colourways from 1986. The familiar gold stars on the side and medial bloodshed panels are no longer present and have been replaced with repeating gold Nike logos on the sidewall. The inner panels, on the other hand, remain clean. Apart from this notable change, all other details have been retained, from the familiar crocodile leather overlays to the gold-embellished tongue labels.

 

The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High Prototype collabo is something very special. It is an extremely Lauren edition of the already highly coveted PRM Sneaker, of which only three pairs were produced in an exclusive colour combination. So if you have deep pockets and are looking for rare examples, here's your chance. Each of the three pairs will be sold in a separate auction and is expected to fetch between 30,000 and 50,000 US dollars. The auctions start on 26 September on the JOOPITER website and run until 3 October.
