Rukus and Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices Raffles Conjure up a Mystical Skateboard Collab with the "Voodoo Doll"
Baton Rouge-based skate shop chain Rukus, run by Ronnie Saurage, has announced a collaboration with Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices Raffles, the shoe brand's skate line. The collaboration, called "Voodoo Doll," brings the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices Raffles 440 with design elements that pay tribute to the rich cultural history of voodoo in Louisiana - a practice that dates back to the 18th century. The shoes have a woven jute structure as a base layer, suede uppers and details reminiscent of tack stitching. The classic "N" logo in premium red leather is on the side, while on the medial side it appears as an outline of tack stitching - an unfinished work reminiscent of the making of a voodoo doll.
The Rukus x Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices Raffles 440 "Voodoo Doll" has some additional details that make the design even more unique. Each shoe has a sewn-on button placket reminiscent of the doll's eyes. There's also a 103 brand printed on the inside label and heel, and a special jute bag that will likely come with the plush Voodoo Doll from the photo shoot. There's co-branding on the tongue, inspired panels and a paisley pattern on the lining. Although retail prices for the sneakers have not yet been announced, they are expected to be available at a pop-up store in Perkins Rowe in Baton Rouge, Louisiana starting December 1.
