It provides a solid backdrop for the coloured overlays, which come in blue. The contrasting hue covers the adjacent elements, the Swooshes, and the straps.

Up to here, the base and overlays take up most of the space, but our attention belongs to the laces. A touch of pastel purple throws us off our game. You can probably swap out the laces, but we like Nike's intentional update.
