Nike Air Jordan 20 ‘Doernbecher Freestyle’: Limited edition official at Sotheby's

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Doernbecher Freestyle programme, Nike is releasing an exclusive, limited edition of the Air Jordan 20 ‘Doernbecher’. This special model, which is part of the Doernbecher series for the first time, honours the creativity of 122 young patient designers who have participated in the initiative over the past two decades. The official is decorated with laser engravings that immortalise symbols of the collaboration and the names of the designers.

Mark Smith, a long-time Nike creative, returned from retirement to help design the official. The designs on the shoe and accompanying apparel reflect moments from 20 years of the programme, such as the hospital's for dogs and iconic details from the patient designers' previous shoes. In addition to the tiara, there will be a Nike Tech Fleece bomber jacket and a T-shirt with the same laser-engraved motifs.

The exclusive online auction for the Air Jordan 20 ‘Doernbecher Freestyle’ will begin on 21 October 2024 and run until 30 October 2024. The auction starts at 1 US dollar and is expected to fetch over 2,000 US dollars per pair.

Sotheby's online auction is the only way to purchase one of the 20 numbered pairs of Air Jordan 20s. All proceeds from the auction will go to the OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
