Every year since 2012, Nike Basketball has honoured Kevin Durant's late Aunt Pearl with a special sneaker release. This tradition will continue in 2024 and the Nike KD 17 ‘Aunt Pearl’ is a deeply touching tribute to a woman who had a great influence on Durant's life. Pearl died of lung cancer in 2000 and since then the ‘Aunt Pearl’ series has been an integral part of the Nike KD series.

This year's model, the KD 17, impresses with an elegant design that is all in pink. The main colour ‘Pink Foam’ dominates the upper, while darker accents in ‘Beyond Pink’ have been added to the Swoosh, midsole and outsole. Perforations on the tongue and heel provide additional breathability, while the embroidered pearl pattern on the heel and Aunt Pearl's initials give the shoe a personal touch.
